Abstract :
This paper presents a robust detection scheme for continuous wave noise radar in the presence of heavy-tailed interferences described by alpha-stable probability distributions. The conventional detection algorithm based on second order statistics may reveal significant performance degradation in the presence of impulsive noises. A substantial advantage of presented robust algorithm based on lower order statistics was confirmed by Monte-Carlo simulations.
