Abstract :
This paper proposes the configuration of a polyhedral array antenna arranged on a polyhedron and describes the limitation of coverage gain of polyhedral antennas. Here, a cube, an octahedron, a dodecahedron, an icosahedron, the truncated icosahedron (soccer ball type), the polyhedron with 60 triangles, and the polyhedron with 80 triangles are considered. And, the relation between the minimum coverage gain and the size of an array antenna is discussed, and in order to achieve the higher minimum coverage gain, the several antenna element simultaneous excitation of a truncated icosahedron array is considered.
