Abstract :
The idea of Z-pinch experiment powered from a ten-element disk magneto-cumulative generator DMCG240-10 equipped with an electric-exploded current sharpener, is presented. The generator provides a current up to 20 MA at a current rise time of ~1 mus on a liner load. The liner consists of a nested multi-wire system. The diameter of the outer cascade is 20 cm, the diameter of the inner cascade is 10 cm. The cascades are made of 720 (outer) and 360 (inner) tungsten wires of 11 mum diameter. The liner height is 25 mm. Integral yield of soft X-ray radiation at current liner implosion exceeds 1 MJ.
