Abstract :
In diamond turning of freeform optical surfaces, the radial spiral feed of tool and the tool nose radius compensation are taken into consideration for the tool position trajectory generation. Mechanism of surface topography generation is analyzed, and a three-dimensional surface topography model is proposed. The influence of some factors such as spindle speed, feed rate, depth of cut and tool nose radius on surface roughness is analyzed, which provides a theoretical basis for the active control of process parameters.
