Abstract :
This paper presents a basic study of transmission for the next generation digital terrestrial broadcasting system for mobile reception. NHK STRL is developing a system that is able to receive a stable Hi-Vision broadcast while moving. We examined a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) - OFDM system using two transmitter antennas, two receiver antennas, and space frequency block coding (SFBC). This paper presents results of a computer simulation and field experiment of the 2×2 SFBC-MIMO transmission system.
