Abstract :
Industry products in production line need to be printed characters on them. In order to prevent the mistakes of printed characters, the computer vision system is commonly used to recognize the characters on products. Conventional segmentation method cannot correctly separate the characters under the condition of touching characters. In this paper a new method is proposed, which rotates the character image to the horizontal position, and uses the opening operation of morphology to cut the touching characters. Good segmentation and recognition results of characters have been got in experiments.
