Abstract :
A Eu3+-doped NaYF4 downconversion materials (DCM) spin-cast on the front surface of the silicon-based solar cells (SBSCs) has been fabricated to improve the photovoltaic characteristics of SBSCs. Organic solvent dispersible Eu3+-doped NaYF4 DCMs were hydrothermally synthesized according to the modified liquid-solid-solution synthetic strategy. Intense and well-resolved photoluminescent lines in the range of 580-700 nm are observed from the Eu3+-doped NaYF4 DCM. The achievement of an CE improvement of more than 0.6% absolute from 15.5% to 16.1% in SBSCs with Eu3+-doped NaYF4 DCM was explored.
