Abstract :
Measurements of the complex impulse response of 900 MHz radio channels between cell sites and mobiles near the mountains in Vancouver, Canada are presented. A propagation model based on the normalized scattering cross section σ0 of the mountains is developed. Using values of σ0 derived from the measurements, this model can be used to predict characteristics of the impulse response in similar terrain from topographical data
