Abstract :
An excellent implementation of GMSK modulators achieved taking advantage of symmetry properties of the pre-modulation filter is described. The design bypasses traditional processing steps such as modulating waveform ROM lookup, integration, and sine/cosine ROM lookup, and therefore does not introduce the related errors. The modulation process is implemented just looking up a table which contains several fixed shape of curves, and then choosing one of which and adjusting the direction and sign according to the last several input bits, at last, combining the whole curves into an output as the modulation result.
