Green cleaning-the demands of environmental protection are changing the electronics industry

Abstract :
Environmentally compatible cleaning processes aim at the minimal use of resources as well as little waste and emissions. This aim has to be reached by using toxicologically safe solvents that are not hazardous to humans and nature. The cleaning solvents, mode of application and specific cleaning units are only decided upon after a a thorough analysis of the cleaning tasks at hand, the overall conditions and the demands on the cleaned printed circuit board. Because of the multitude of problems there is no one ideal solution which fits the technical, economical and ecological demands equally well. Since especially small and medium sized enterprises are overtaxed when asked to choose the adequate cleaning solvent and equipment, consulting with experienced users is highly recommended
