Abstract
The High Level Architecture (HLA) is an IEEE standard software architecture for creating computer models and simulations in a distributed environment. The current implementation assumes a single federation only. Hierarchical Federations Architecture (HFA) is an extension to the HLA. It supports multiple federations and federates in different federations communicate with each other through gateway federations. Compared with a flat federation, the communication in HFA is more complex and needs a longer time. We give our solution to minimize the latency effect so as to improve the data filtering accuracy in hierarchical federations.
