Abstract :
A novel linear array antenna formed by the anti-phase feeding L-probe tapered patches with parasitical radiating patches and reflector ground with cutting slots is proposed and investigated experimentally. The measured impedance bandwidth determined by VSWR<;1.5 is 23.7% and it can be improved further, and the more accurate Half-Power Beam Width (HPBW) of 90+2° (the criterion is 90+8°) in azimuth plane is achieved by designing the shape of the radiation element and its reflector ground. The antenna has a front-to-back ratio of radiation pattern of 25 dB and the gain of the array antenna is enhanced by the anti-phase feeding technique. The array characters not only satisfy the wireless communication criterions but also some of them exceed the criterions, it is highly suitable for the base station applications for wireless communication systems.
