Abstract :
Optimum one-shot BPSK receiver design is considered, for slowly flat-fading multiple access interference and noise-limited radio channels, supporting a number of mobile packet radio terminals with partially overlapping carrier frequencies. Single-user coherent and partially coherent base-station receiver structures, each optimized to minimize the bit error rate (BER) for each terminal are obtained. The effect of multiple-access signal design on the signal detection and channel parameter estimation processes is determined
