  • Abstract
A method is provided to convert dipole antennas into calculable dipole antennas (CDAs) over 30 MHz to 300 MHz. By applying a specific S-parameter adapter to a balun, the S-parameters of the balun can be measured and then the characteristics of the dipole antenna can be simulated with the aid of method of moment and the theory of microwave network. The difference of horizontally polarized site attenuation at 10 m Range between measurement and simulation is within 0.4 dB over 30 MHz to 300 MHz; the difference of site insertion loss is within 0.9dB over broadband frequencies. Application of CDA for a 5 m semi-anechoic chamber validation at vertically polarization is illustrated.
