Abstract :
An analytical model is presented to evaluate the shielding effectiveness of a rectangular enclosure with apertures. The aperture is replaced with a coplanar strip transmission line shorted at each end, and the enclosure is modeled as a shorted rectangular waveguide. The rectangular enclosure with apertures is represented as a transmission line network, so the problem can be equivalent to a transmission line network excited by electromagnetic field, and the BLT equation in electromagnetic topology is used to evaluate the shielding effectiveness. The simulation results are in good agreement with results obtained by measurement and other models.
