Abstract :
The performance of a microcellular radio system is evaluated by assuming the desired and cochannel interfering signals by shadowed Rician and uncorrelated shadowed Rayleigh distributions, respectively. Performance is measured in terms of cochannel interference probability and spectrum efficiency. The effects of protection ratio, carried traffic (blocking probability), Rician parameter, and standard deviation of log-normal shadowed local mean on the performance parameters are investigated. The performance is mathematially analyzed by modeling the power-law with distance by a dual path-loss law with a turning point
