Abstract :
The performance of video signal is important to the quality of DVD Recorders. A carefully-designed moving image is an effective signal for testing and measuring the video output of DVD recorders. But this kind of moving image is impossible to generate and analyze for traditional instruments. Virtual instrument technology sheds a new light to tackle this problem. This paper firstly presents a moving image as a standard video test signal and then analyzes its features. The hardware architecture to generate and capture the signal is constructed and the parameters to be checked are sorted out. Corresponding program modules are coded in LabVIEW and are illustrated. Finally, the moving image is successfully applied in the measurement of DVD recorders video performance and a high efficiency, low cost measurement system is achieved.
