Abstract :
The performance of a fractionally spaced decision feedback equalizer (DFE) for spread-spectrum multiple access (SSMA) systems, which does not make explicit use of the interferers´ spreading sequences, is evaluated. It is found that the system performance is acceptable even for small spreading gains in a slow-fading multipath environment. Good performance has been achieved without the knowledge of the desired user´s spreading sequence. This could lead to less complex receivers and higher capacity of users for SSMA than that of other access techniques
