Abstract :
A transmitting-receiving array antenna of angular beam steering and polarization agility is proposed. The controls of beam steering and those of polarization agility are totally independent for this system. The principle advantage of this system is that it can improve the performances of radar systems by adapting the polarimetric state of the transmitting and receiving antenna to the environment and at the same time by using the successful experiences of the technique of angular beam steering. A way to obtain any desired polarization state by using realistic shifters and amplifiers or attenuators is also proposed
