Abstract
The authors present a method that allows easy and efficient constraint of the dynamic range of the current distribution without any significant degradation of the pattern. This method can easily be extended to other kinds of constraints. To test the procedure they have synthesized two typical patterns, namely, a flat-topped beam extending from theta =-20 degrees to theta =20 degrees and a cosecant beam extending from theta =0 degrees to theta =45 degrees , both with 17 elements and requiring a sidelobe level of -30 dB.<>
