Abstract :
Surface reconstruction and products processing are both key technologies in reverse engineering. This paper presents a simplified method for B-spline curve back calculation which regards data points as control points. This method not only greatly simplifies the process of B-spline surface reconstruction but also provides a favorable condition for real-time interpolation in NC machining. Then an error model for the simplified method is proposed. Finally, the feasibility of the simplified method is verified by a practical example.
