Abstract :
The benefits of using linear modulation methods for a frequency hopping (FH) transmission system in narrowband, i.e., voice cellular networks, are considered. In particular, the use of a 16-level modulation scheme derived from 16 QAM combined with FH is evaluated operating in a channel subject to noise and multipath fading, characteristic of the mobile environment
