  • Abstract
    In this paper, a kind of coupled gap-ring defected ground structure (CGRDGS) is proposed firstly. The electric and magnetic coupling characteristics are studied. The S-parameters show that this type DGS has high selectivity, wide and deep stopband characteristics. At the same time, the effects of varying the parameters of CGRDGS have been studied. In order to explore the usefulness of the CGRDGS, a kind of seven-pole low-pass filter (LPF) is designed. This filter has compact size, sharp attenuation skirt and ultrawide stopband.
