Abstract
Tetra Corporation has developed a new high dielectric constant insulating oil, tetra high energy storage oil (THESO) (Patent pending), for pulsed power applications. In this paper we discuss the measurement of the dielectric properties of the oil, in particular the dielectric strength, dielectric constant, and conductivity. We also discuss the water absorption properties and compare energy storage density with other pulsed power insulating fluids.
