Abstract :
As a result of several key driving forces, requirement management has become an important topic in manufacturing. This has occurred in both the defense industry and in commercial manufacturing industries, including automotive, electronics, computers, and other high-technology sectors. Requirements management is defined as the capture, dissemination, maintenance, sharing, and validation of product requirements. The authors set forth some fundamental principles of the requirement management process and identify important support capabilities that are needed to make this process effective. They point out some important capabilities that are needed to enable effective requirement management. They define a requirement management support system as a computer system that provides an organization with the capability to capture, track and evaluate the product requirements that influence its development decisions
