Abstract
The demand for high data rates has been continuously increasing in wireless applications, with requirements such as support for multimedia applications. Multicarrier modulation techniques have been proposed for achieving high bit rate transmission in severe multipath and fading channels. This paper presents two peak-to-average power ratio (PAR) reduction techniques for multicarrier communication systems. The advantage of the methods is that they are transparent to the receiver and no bandwidth is lost while performing PAR reduction. Simulation studies are presented for the two proposed techniques in order to demonstrate their efficacy
