Abstract :
The CASM project started in 1982. Since that time a number of software developments have taken place which have been reported on in the literature. These developments reflect the research group´s views on one of the ways in which simulation modelling could be conducted in practice. The paper reexamines these views with respect to the underlying methodology of simulation modelling; discusses the latest version of the simulation software developed by members of the CASM team; and mentions the method of organisation of the CASM research team. Some comments on the success or otherwise of these endeavours are made and on the future anticipated research endeavours of the group.
