Abstract :
Electric Power Engineering at Tampere University of Technology (TUT) has an active project on reducing extremely low frequency electromagnetic compatibility disturbances. This paper describes a laboratory that is being built up for studying this subject. The laboratory consists of two sections, one dealing with magnetic fields and the other with harmonics. In the first section, that is already constructed, there will be concentrated study on measuring disturbances caused by magnetic fields. The other section is still under construction. In that section of the laboratory a small industrial network will be constructed. With the network different phenomena and disturbances connected to harmonics in industrial networks will be studied. The laboratory can also be used for teaching on these subjects
