Abstract :
In conformity with CCIR study program IA-3/5 (1986), propagation measurements were conducted on a smooth-earth diffraction path (35 km) for a period of one year at 73.2 MHz frequency on a round-the-clock basis. The results of this study are presented in the form of diffraction loss, its temporal variation, and fade depths as a function of mean monthly values of vertical refractivity gradient. The experimental results have been compared with CCIR prediction methods and show good agreement.<>
