Abstract :
We propose a one-way ranging algorithm which is based on wireless synchronization with measured timestamps and clock frequency offsets. In the active mode one-way ranging algorithm, a mobile node initiates ranging procedure by transmitting a ranging frame, and anchor nodes report their time stamps for received ranging frame to reference anchor node connected to location server. In the passive mode one-way ranging algorithm, anchor nodes initiate ranging procedure by transmitting ranging frames, and mobile nodes estimate their positions. The synchronization for a node pair is adapted using instantaneous time information and corresponding difference of distances can be determined. We evaluate the performance of TWR, SDS-TWR and proposed ranging algorithms.
