Abstract
In this paper, we investigate the possible methods of generating circles and arcs on an active matrix liquid crystal display (AMLCD) within a custom graphics engine called enhanced system integrated graphic hardware topography II (ENSIGHT II). Research is done to choose the best possible method of generating complete circles and arcs. An algorithm utilizing Bresenham\´s circle algorithm with thirteen different clipping modes is developed, implemented and placed accordingly inside of ENSIGHT II. To prove the algorithm is working as described, simulation is performed and then demonstrated with an Altera XA10 FPGA Development Board and a Toshiba 6.3" AMLCD
