Abstract :
Summary form only given. The paper deals with a technique for creating a field model suitable for optimization and inverse electromagnetic field problems. By applying this technique, it becomes possible to investigate the field model depending on a large number of parameters. The technique can be applied when the region of optimization has a very complicated structure. The technique involves the following main steps. The region of interest is divided into a number of subregions, each of them being of simple structure depending of small number of parameters. The method of design of experiment is applied in order to obtain the field model in each subregion. The experiments are numerical, for example, carried out by the finite element method. Due to the small number of parameters in each subregion, the total number of numerical experiments is not large. After having the model for all subregions, the whole model is built by assembling the models of the subregions. The technique is applicable to linear problems and enables substantial reduction in the CPU time needed for creation of the model. This model is used for solving inverse or optimization problems in the regions depending on a large number of parameters. The technique is successfully applied to the solution of several inverse and optimization problems
