Abstract :
Metal̃organic frameworks (MOFs) are one of the most interesting classes of porous nanostructured hybrid organic̃inorganic materials. Porous solids are of great scientific and technological importance because of their ability to interact with atoms, ions, and molecules not only on the surface, but also in the bulk of a material. The chemistry of MOFs has provided an extensive class of highly stable materials. Recent results on the development and synthesis of MOFs have made it possible to carry out fundamental and applied research. MOFs are very promising for application in adsorption separation, design of sensors, membranes, and gas sorbents, purification and storage of gases, design of telecommunication and industrial electronic devices, insulating materials.
