Abstract
Two different problems were created for the 1998 IEEE/EMC symposium´s special session on challenging problems. All the major techniques were represented, including the method of moments (MoM), the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD), the finite element method (FEM), the transmission line method (TLM), and the partial element equivalent circuit (PEEC) technique. Each author was invited to solve one or more of the challenge problems, while highlighting why particular technique was well suited or not to this problem. A new set of challenging problems have been created for 1999. All four of these problems are difficult problems, but are typical of the real-world problems that face EMC engineers. Each of the four different problems is described
