Abstract :
The complexity of realistic geometries for EMI simulation problems is increasing steadily as the clock frequencies and the speed of electronic systems increases. Especially the increase in the clock rate for high end servers and workstations requires a careful analysis of all parts of a computer package. We analyze a structure which involves multiple pin connections for a high speed package. The problem involves the electrical properties of connecting pins in the presence of multiple ground pins. The problem is solved with an experimental program based on the partial element equivalent circuit (PEEC) method. This circuit oriented solver is ideally suited for this case. We solve the electromagnetic problem in the presence of several conventional circuit elements
