Abstract :
Higher learning institutions must consider every possible cause and factor in the process of correcting, monitoring and minimizing students´ absenteeism. Students´ absenteeism is a continuous and serious problem faced by higher learning institutions. Respecting clear rules and regulations, evaluating causes and factors influencing absenteeism regularly, managing strategies at the institutions and individual levels are some of the critical issues to be considered to effectively eliminate absenteeism for course efficiency and quality improvement. Previous researches found that students with absenteeism contribute heavily to workforce absences. It is hardly found in any study dwelling the reasons for higher learning students absenteeism. This paper aims to study the relationship between personality dimension and voluntary absenteeism in which the unit analysis refers to individual analysis as the major concern to understand the voluntary absenteeism by students registered for entrepreneurship course. The personality dimension focused on stress and boredom. Based on a field survey on one hundred and forty four students, the finding shows that there are significant effects linking respective independent variables (stress and boredom) on voluntary absenteeism.
