  • Abstract
Electronic aids for the visually impaired represent a great opportunity for improving the life quality of this class of people. Many efforts have been dedicated to produce tools improving the mobility and the orientation for both indoor and outdoor application. However, many other aspects compromising the life quality of blind people must be taken into account. In particular, the interaction with the surroundings and the possibility to get as much information as possible are mandatory tasks. In this paper, a new multi-sensor tool is presented, which allows for the classification of home light. Low cost, reliability, optimal information degree and easy to use are the main features of the device, making the system competitive compared to other marketed devices
