Abstract
An aperture coupled rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) with a parasitic patch was studied theoretically and experimentally. It was found that a good circularly polarized (CP) performance can be obtained by adding a parasitic patch on the side wall of the DRA. The non-uniform orthogonal grids finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method with a uniaxial perfectly matched layer (UPML) was used. Both simulated and measured results of this antenna are presented.
