Abstract
To acquire the skills to survive and sustain in an employment, an engineering professional should grow fully in all aspects which are existing in today´s competitive world. Further he/she should also be aware of the various expectations of the employers in the future and be ready to accept and perform well. The basic characteristics along with some of the characteristics with deep down details are discussed here which are to be elaborated and analyzed as per the requirement and experience. The graduates should not over estimate their strengths, underestimate the weaknesses, ignore the opportunities and risk the threats. Such exercise merely spoils the creative time available and will set a bad pessimistic attitude, whereas for an individual to get employed and sustain in employment in the future, he/she should optimally, diplomatically handle the situations with the above said skills or tool sets. In general to survive in the competitive world of engineering and technology, one has to be an expert by himself/herself in overall qualities which he/she has to exhibit, adopt, and communicate to all the concerned in a diplomatic manner according to the situations.
