Abstract :
A powder-supply device using the bending vibration mode of a piezoelectric disk with a two-step cylindrical funnel at its center is described. The device has simple structure by which powder on the surface of the vibrator flows out of the tip of the funnel. Two vibration modes of the disk were studied, and their powder-supply characteristics were compared experimentally. The results show that the device can supply powders of particles smaller than 10 μm at flow rate of less than 1 mg/s.
