Abstract :
This paper proposes a new and fast method to develop a most efficient security enhancement system by adopting a most suitable algorithm for detecting any unwanted motion that should not occur in the safe zone of organizations such as banks, business enterprises etc. Unlike the previously developed motion detection techniques, this algorithm incorporates in it the benefits of accuracy, robustness and simple logic. The video images obtained by the webcams are captured by the MATLAB program which is run in a computer. The program then processes the images from the webcam and detects whether a motion has occurred by the subtraction of images and comparison with a tuning factor. If motion is found to be detected, a message is being sent to the mobile phone of the concerned authority by utilizing the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) network facility by including a GSM modem. Attention (AT) commands are used to drive the GSM modem. An alert through emergency alarm is also included.
