            Abstract :
The dielectric and piezoelectric properties of lead magnesium niobate, Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 (PMN), and the solid solution systems with lead titanate, PMN-PT, are of importance for investigating the viability of these relaxor ferroelectric materials for ultrasound transducer applications. This paper summarizes a recent study of the effects of synthesis and processing on the dielectric and electromechanical properties of these materials
