Abstract
This paper investigates an influence of stator iron loss in flux weakening region for an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor. The influence is quantitatively evaluated based on the mathematical model of the motor. Furthermore, a new flux weakening control taking account of stator iron loss is proposed. Control performance of the new flux weakening control is compared with that of the conventional flux weakening control by computer simulations.
