Abstract :
Transient time-varying voluntary movement-related potentials reside in non-stationary background EEG activity with signal-to-noise ratios typically below -5 dB. This paper presents the preliminary results of evaluation of the statistical space-time characteristics of single-trial EEG. Its findings show that the variance of the EEG is spatially dependent and has spatially consistent features. The EEG during movement and the EEG during no movement can be considered statistically equivalent
