Abstract
In our previous studies, ESD stress simulation method which could evaluate ESD stress tolerance of electronic equipment in their design process have been developed. However, in the previous method, one of their problems is that the transmission line model can be acquired by measuring the target PCB after making the prototype. Therefore, in this study, we challenged to adapt S-parameter calculation method using electromagnetic field simulator to the transmission line modeling from PCB CAD data. We evaluated accuracy of the transmission line pre-modeling method for the system-level ESD stress simulation. The evaluated characteristics were frequency response of the S-parameters and time domain ESD stress voltage waveforms simulated by the ESD stress simulation with the calculated S-parameter and the measured S-parameter.
