  • Abstract
Conventionally, the static converter used for rolling stock auxiliary power supply has power circuit topology as well as half bridge converter, resonant half bridge converter and its variant, and buck converter. To solve the problem of requirements for high voltage static switch rating, serially connected flyback converter, and serially connected 3-phase inverter are commonly used. Thyristors and GTO thyristors are widely used for the static switch, thus the switching frequency can not be too high. In this paper, a new method DC to DC converter based on standard half bridge DC to AC converter is presented. This kind of converter can be used in high voltage applications such as auxiliary power supply for rolling stock. This converter has a significant advantage compared to the half and full bridge converter. The proposed converter is verified by experimental results.
