Abstract
This paper presents a new methodology in multimedia content generation in support to SOC decoder development and validation. The proposed content generation covers multi-standard video and audio. Content is categorized in conformance content, interoperability content, stress content, and negative content. Each category offers the ability to extend the scope of possibilities within the realm of coverage necessary to provide effective content that contributes to enhance the quality of the design and consequently its robustness. Although coverage is not 100% exhaustive the proposed methodology has contributed to improve SOC verification and validation and to comply with current standard attributes.
