Abstract :
The use of mobile sinks has attracted a lot of researchers in the recent few years. In fact, when deploying a static sink, nodes that are close to the sink will drain their energy faster, because besides sending their own data, they are, also, responsible for forwarding data on behalf of nodes that are far. In this work, we propose a new event notification approach in which nodes that detect a certain event, such as flooding or air condition change, will form a cluster and elect a clusterhead. The clusterhead will be in charge of reporting the event occurrence to a certain mobile sink. It is necessary to point that all sensors stay in "sleep" mode until an event occurs, which makes our approach highly energy-efficient.
