Abstract :
Preliminary experiments were done to investigate the combustion characteristics of low calorific gas in porous media without pre-mixer. Ignition start-up process was discussed at the certain operating parameters. Temperature profiles stability was analyzed in details between extreme low equivalence ratio (LER) and high equivalence ratio (HER), in addition the combustion emission. The results showed that stable ignition and combustion in porous media without pre-mixer can be obtained. The structure and arrangement style of foam ceramics have much influence on flame stabilization. Combustion flame stabilizes at upstream of combustor at φ≥0.45; Temperature profile is more stable at relative HER than that of LER; stable combustion wave is formed at LER. Stable emission can be obtained at certain operating conditions.
