  • Abstract
Wind farm group integrated system consists of many Large-Scale a single wind farm, which will have a total capacity of 1,000MW (and above). Reactive- power fluctuation of Wind farm group will seriously worse the voltage in limited area nearby .However, Reactive power optimization is limited to the regulation of reactive power of a single wind farm mostly, that cannot satisfy the demand of voltage regulating for local power system. Using the voltage level of PCC and integrated substation as a target function, this paper applies an efficient method based on genetic algorithm to extract reactive power compensation point and optimize reactive power compensation capacity of STATCOM. Taking wind power system within Inner Mongolia Huitengxile district power network as an example, the simulation results show that this method is valid to prevent voltage collapse.
